When listing, selling or renting in Rhode Island it's important to verify the agent is duly licensed, start by checking their credentials with the state licensing authority.
Hiring A Rhode Island Real Estate Professional
The Rhode Island Department of business regulations real estate division approves and authorizes real estate licensing in Rhode Island. Before you hire a real estate agent to represent you first verify they hold a valid real estate license. You can check to see if they hold a valid Rhode Island real estate license by checking the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations list of authorized licensees.  All real estate agents in Rhode Island must complete a state-approved real estate pre-licensing course and pass a state exam which proves their knowledge of modern real estate principles and practices and understanding of Rhode Island real estate law.  All Licensees are required to complete a comprehensive state-approved pre-licensing course as administered by the Real Estate Insitute Of Rhode Island before providing real estate advocacy, counsel or advice in the buying, selling or renting of real property in Rhode Island.
