To become a Rhode Island real estate salesperson candidates must complete the following requirements. The very first step to begin the process is to enroll in the real estate pre-licensing class.

- Candidates must be 18 years of age.
- Complete a 45-hour pre-license class.
- Complete a 3 hour lead poision/mitagation class.
- Obtain a criminal history record from the Rhode Island attorney general.
- Complete a 3 hour New Agency Law class (if not included in the 45-hour pre-license class).
- Provide proof of Errors and Omissions insurance.
- A taxpayer status Affidavit/Identity verification
- Test score for successfully passing the real estate exam.
- Completed Real Estate Salesperson Application.
